    First Post-Fred Florida Poll

I don't know anything about an organization known as Public Policy Polling, but they appear to have the first poll conducted after respondents learned Fred Thompson was bowing out of the race.  It's a poll of 807 likely Florida Republican voters.  It finds Romney at 28%, McCain at 25%, Giuliani at 19% and Huckabee at 15%.

Update:  Hugh Hewitt posts on a couple additional polls, one of which gives Romney a 6 point lead while the other shows a statistical dead heat.

I have weighed all the candidates carefully and the man who stands out to me for 1) credible fiscal policies, 2) stance on illegal immigration (my 2 most important criteria) is Mitt Romney. A Florida win will make him unstoppable for the nomination. I'm hoping for a Romney/Thompson ticket.
