    John Warner To Retire

I can't say I'm all that disappointed.  I was actually living in Virginia when Ollie North ran for the U.S. Senate.  I proudly voted for Ollie and looked forward to dropping him into the laps of some of the self-righteous Senators who interrogated him during the Iran-Contra investigation and who, quite frankly, weren't qualified to pick-up Ollie's dry-cleaning.  I was really, really miffed when Warner took it upon himself to undermine Ollie's candidacy after determining that Virginia was better off with Democrat Chuck Robb instead of strengthening the Republican majority in the Senate with a decorated Marine.  Warner's most recent hip-fusion with Democrats calling for a withdrawal of our troops from Iraq despite military gains was, for me, the final nail in Warner's coffin.

I absolutely agree with your comments on Warner - especially as it applies to Colonel North.

Warner was, is, and always will be a RINO. We are better off without him.

HA! The Republican Party has turned away from, indeed scoffed at, the values that made it great. I supported G.W. during the first term, but he steered away from standard conservative values, created a new methodology which isn't even conservative, and proclaims opponents as less than righteous in their commitment to America. It's outright criminal.

I am a T. Roosevelt/Abe Lincoln Republican, and more modernly in the likeness of Wm F. Buckley who is, by the way, against the death penalty, for the legalization of drugs, and thinks this Iraq debacle is a slap in the face to American history.

It's time for a candidate with solid historical values to return the White House.

I don't care what party HE belongs to. heh heh

NeoCons are neither new or conservative.

    :)
