Chicago Tribune Questions Obama's Relationship To Indicted Fundraiser
Friday, November 3, 2006 at 09:05PM The Chicago Tribune editorializes on the potential political plight of media darling Barack Obama. Has the idealistic Senator fallen prey to the same big money relationships afflicting embattled Governor Rod Blagojevich? From the Trib's editorial:
Obama would be wise to explain, fully and quickly, the prelude to a real estate deal and subsequent transactions related to his acquisition of a $1.65 million home on Chicago's South Side. If Obama doesn't shine his own spotlight on his real estate relationship with indicted political fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko, he'll be fielding questions about Rezko in two years and in 20.
If there exists any unseemly connection between Obama and Rezko, you can bet the farm that it will be exploited by Bill and Hillary Clinton should Obama decide to mount a campaign for the presidency. Could the bloom be coming off the rose?
