    Joe Lieberman's Revenge...

...or how one man can have much more than just one vote.  I ultimately don't think that Senator Lieberman will switch parties or caucus with the Republicans, but keeping his options open gives him a vast amount of power in the Senate.  He can almost single-handedly influence the Democratic leadership by warning his colleagues that if they push to hard for defeat in Iraq or venture down a path of irresponsibility on national security issues, he will switch parties and give the Senate to the Republicans.  If that were to happen, I wouldn't expect the MSM to throw him the accolades of distinction and courage that Senator Jim Jeffords received when he broke ranks with the Republicans and gave the Senate to Tom Daschle and the Democrats.

    Update:  Welcome Captain's Quarters readers.
